There are plenty of places to propose in Sintra. Justin chose a quiet terrace overlooking endless forests and a distant glimpse of the Atlantic. What followed was one of those evenings that felt almost impossibly Portuguese: a surprise proposal, golden light spilling through the village streets, a few photographs outside Palácio Nacional de Sintra and a celebratory toast in a local tasca before the day came to an end.

It was April 1st, a day notorious for its pranks. Little did I know, this particular April Fools' Day would take me by surprise in the most beautiful way.
