Couples Photoshoot in Comporta Beach — Patrícia e Ivo
As a destination wedding photographer, I'm always excited to hear from couples who are planning their dream wedding in a beautiful location.
That's exactly how I felt when Patrícia and Ivo reached out to me through a mutual friend. After a chat on Skype or Zoom, I knew that their wedding day was going to be something special and I couldn't wait to capture all the magic.
We didn't have the chance to do our photo session right away, as the couple didn't live in Portugal. However, we were able to schedule it for just a few days before the wedding. We agreed that the stunning beach of Comporta would be the perfect backdrop for our shoot.
The Comporta Beach is a beautiful and unique location for a photoshoot, especially for couples who love the sand, sea, and sun. Located in the Alentejo region of Portugal, it boasts a long stretch of white sand and crystal-clear waters, surrounded by beautiful dunes and pine trees. It's a great location for a relaxed and intimate photoshoot. As a photographer, I love the unique light and natural beauty that can be found in Comporta, and I had previously photographed the micro wedding of Klari & David in this very location so I was very familiar with the spot.
When the day finally arrived, I arrived at the beach a little early to soak up the sun and enjoy the scenery. When Patrícia and Ivo arrived, we spent some time chatting and getting to know each other before beginning the photo session. I have to admit, I was a little nervous - this couple had already had a bad experience with a photographer and I wanted to make sure they felt comfortable and relaxed with me.
This is why having a photoshoot before the wedding is essential for many couples and that’s why I always suggest it, as it provides an opportunity to the couple to get to know me and my silliness and get comfortable in front of the camera. It also allows me to get to know the couples love languages and how the couple express their love towards each other ( not everyone is affectionate and loves kisses and hugs ), the couple’s style and essence before the big day!
Fortunately, we hit it off right away and the photo session was a huge success. We had so much fun together, capturing beautiful images of their love and connection against the stunning backdrop of Comporta beach. It was a wonderful way to build trust and rapport before the wedding day, and I'm so glad that the couple felt safe and secure with me as their photographer.
